Description
The GE IS200EPSMG1A is an Exciter Power Supply Module (EPSM) used in the EX2100 turbine control system by General Electric’s Mark VI control system.
- Function: It converts the 125V DC voltage from the power distribution module (PDM) to various lower voltages needed for the EX2100 excitation control system.
- Application:
- Excitation Control System: Three independent EPSMG1s provide power (+5 VDC, 15 VDC, and 24 VDC) to the control assembly backplane and external modules (fans, de-excitation module, etc.) for each of the controllers (M1, M2, and C) in the system.
- Regulator Control System: In simplex systems, a single EPSMG1 is used in the Exciter Regulator Backplane (ERBP) to convert the DC link bus voltage into voltages required to control the EX2100 regulator. Redundant systems will have one EPSMG1 per ERBP.
- Components: The EPSM consists of two main parts:
- A buck-regulator that converts the input voltage to an intermediate 50V DC voltage.
- A push-pull inverter that generates the required multiple output voltages from the intermediate voltage. The inverter’s transformer isolates the input voltage from the control system’s output.
