Description
The HIMA F8650X is a central processing unit (CPU) module used in safety-critical applications. It is a high-integrity module that meets the requirements of Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 according to IEC 61508. This means that it is designed to be extremely reliable and to minimize the risk of failures that could lead to accidents.
The F8650X is based on two Intel 386EX microprocessors, each with a clock frequency of 25 MHz. It has 1 MB of Flash-EPROM for the operating system, 1 MB of Flash-EPROM for the user program, and 1 MB of SRAM for data. It also has two RS-485 serial interfaces with electrical isolation and a diagnostic display.
