The TRICONEX TRICON 8301A is a main frame power supply that provides 24VDC power to a Triconex control system.
Triconex control systems are programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in safety-critical applications. They use a triple modular redundancy (TMR) architecture for fault tolerance, which means they have three independent processors that perform the same task. The system then compares the outputs of the three processors and only uses the output that a majority agrees on.
